Job Description

Role: Supplies AssistantLocation: National Distribution Centre, LeicesterShift pattern: 20hrs pw Week 1: 8am - 12pm week 2: 2pm - 6pmDuration: 6 - 7 months4 CANDIDATES MUST HAVE TURRENT,HLOP, MAN UP AND COMBI TRUCK EXPERIENCEThe Supplies Assistant role is to carry out assigned warehouse duties and is committed to delivering great customer service in our Leicester National Distribution Centre.The role will support the Team Manager to provide and organize the material and consumable stocks contained within the National Distribution Centre in order to meet agreed levels of customer service at optimum financial cost.The RoleWith the support of the Team Manager, this role will be responsible for pro-actively identifying changes to supplies related practices in the pursuit of continuous improvement to the level of service provided to customers and reductions in operating and material costs.

  • Aim to meet productivity targets to contribute to the efficient running of the warehouse.*Be motivated and engaged to deliver against operational and service level targets.*Ensure information systems are operated to the required standard to maintain accurate and secure records.*Assist in support of the companies Supplier Performance Rating Scheme in order that customers can be made fully aware of parts availability issues.*Liaise closely with Manufacturers and Suppliers and other external bodies at all levels to continually improve performance and communication and that all payment and delivery queries are resolved within set guidelines.*Adhere to the Competence and Training framework policy and procedures to attain and maintains the required competency level to perform their role and, in particular, to promote a culture where customers are treated fairly and are properly informed.The Ideal Candidate*Sound understanding of what delivers great customer service.*Good organizational skills.*Understand good housekeeping for data protection and information security requirements.*Maintain effectiveness despite continuing change*Has the ability to share best practice, implement solutions to improve overall service levels.*Develop close working relationships with all internal / external customers to improve the overall NDC service.*Ability to communicate effectively, whilst demonstrating empathy with suppliers and colleagues.*Good organisation skills with the ability to prioritise work and plan accordingly.*Initiative to support Team Manager to generate solutions to solve problems.
