Job Description

SUBCONTRACTOR PAYMENTS CLERK. RECfinancial are delighted to be recruiting for this Leicester based business on an initial 12 month basis. This role may well become permanent. What does the role involve for the Subcontractor Payments ClerkReporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for carrying out financial duties to support the business, in accordance with the business vision and objectives. You will work closely with the Finance Team to make sure that objectives aremet; continually seeking opportunities for improvement in processes, ways of working and productivity. Located in Leicester the role will be office based with some access to hybrid working. Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Input new starters and set up of new subcontract accounts
  • HMRC verification of new subcontractors
  • Input timesheets into accounts software
  • Raise weekly bacs submissions ready for approval
  • Monthly CIS submissions
  • Payment of Vat invoices/labour agency invoices
  • Checking all HMRC requirements are adhered to for Construction Industry Scheme and Domestic Reverse Charge (Training will be provided)
  • Weekly reporting of supervision ratios and prelims
  • Retention release payments
  • Group labour recharge invoices
  • Makes recommendations to improve processes, procedures, and productivity
What are we looking forWe are looking for a confident individual with previous experience dealing with the payment of subcontractor weekly (labour only) invoices. Our successful candidate will be a team player who is willing to liaise with our Quantity Surveyors and resolve queries.The candidate should possess excellent attention to detail and able to work on own initiative. Good time management skills will be required.Skills and experience:
  • Experience in a similar role is desirable but CIS is not essential.
  • Willingness to learn
  • High level of numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills and administration skills
  • Self-discipline, with good time management skills and the ability to manage a number of priorities
  • Team player, supportive of departmental colleagues
