Job Description

We are currently working with a global healthcare organisation within Stoma who are seeking an enthusiastic Stoma Care Nurse to join their dynamic team based in Leicester. The hours for the role are 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday,8.00am-4.00pm(withhalf an hour for lunch.)Full package information available upon application - Please contact our team for details (Industry average salary guide for role type: £30,000 - £40,000).Ideal Requirement for the Stoma Care Nurse

  • Proven post registration experience having demonstrated track record of successful professional experience in a stoma or colorectal background.
  • NMC Registered.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills.
  • Have IT skills, including excel.
  • Able to build positive relationships with colleagues and patients.
  • Flexibility in order to meet patient and service needs.
Role Responsibilities for the Stoma Care Nurse
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate personalised nursing care for patients with a stoma or fistula.
  • Liaise with relevant hospital personnel to ensure the delivery of high-quality care for all patients with stomas.
  • Act as a patient advocate, providing effective support and information to empower patients in making informed decisions about their treatment.
  • Collaborate with community and continuing care teams to establish a seamless service transition between hospital and home.
  • Serve as an expert resource for nursing staff involved in the care of patients with stoma/colorectal disease, offering support, guidance, and educational programs.
  • Maintain accurate records following best practices, work in accordance with Trust policies, and contribute to the development of the prescription delivery service while supporting Health Care Professionals in implementing best practices for improved patientcare.
