Job Description

Payroll and Pensions AdministratorLocation: Leicester City Centre (2 days per week in office)Salary: Up to £29,500About Us: We are pleased to partner with a leading organisation, dedicated to providing expert guidance on payroll and pensions administration. Join this team and play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance and accuracy in this essentialfunction.Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive advice and guidance on all payroll and pension matters.
  • Maintain continuous professional development to stay updated on legislative and contractual changes.
  • Process monthly payroll accurately and efficiently, including pensions data for all schemes.
  • Meticulously check audit reports, error and exception reports, and resolve queries promptly.
  • Assist with month-end/year-end processing, upgrades, and reconciliations.
  • Manage the effective archiving of all payroll and pensions data in accordance with GDPR.
  • Prepare, check, and arrange advances for urgent ad-hoc payments.
  • Provide advice, expertise, and training on legislative and contractual issues affecting payroll and pensions.
  • Engage positively in team initiatives, identify areas for process/system improvement, and resolve complex queries.
  • Participate in project work related to payroll and pensions, such as legislative or contractual changes, pension scheme changes, and policy reviews.
  • Manage payroll and pension emails and calls, demonstrating a commitment to dignity, respect, and compliance with the Equality Act 2010.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Strong background in payroll and pension administration.
  • Proficiency in HMRC legislation, contractual obligations, and university policies.
  • Experience in processing payroll data and handling complex queries.
  • Strong attention to detail and expertise in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Ability to adapt to new systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and proactive attitude towards improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, including project work.
  • Commitment to environmental sustainability.
