Following investment and growth, a global leading manufacturer of complex components and critical solutions to the aerospace, defence and technology sectors has a new vacancy for a Senior Mechanical Engineer. You will be responsible for deriving the mechanicalperformance specification of the subassemblies and accountable for design, validation, and timely manufacture of new products into manufacture.Commutable from: Leicester, Coventry, Lutterworth, Derby, Nottingham, Hinckley, Salary: £ 45,000 - £55,000 p.a. + benefitsSuitable for: Senior Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Principal Mechanical Engineer, Lead Engineer. The RoleDemonstrate a clear understanding of the overall system performance requirements and derive the metrology error budgets for each of the main instrument functions.Suggest mechanical solutions and manufacturing methods for above, supported by calculations and FEA analysis as appropriate.Suggest efficient methods of assembly and validation methods for above.Demonstrate a clear understanding of the evaluation plans and expected results with suggestions for life testing and servicing.Oversee more junior/sub-contract Mechanical engineers on the project.Be able to take lead in Mechanical project design reviews.Generate the necessary supporting documentation to intraduct the products into manufacturing and service.The PersonProven track record in product design.Ideally degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with at least 3 years experience.Experience of design of complex mechanisms.Knowledge of drives and controls.Sound knowledge of manufacturing engineering, materials, methods, and processes.Demonstrable, thorough, analytical skills reinforced with practical problem-solving abilities.Proficient in the use of the following tools: CAD (at least on of the following SW, NX, Catia, ProE).MS Office or similar.For more information and to apply for the role of Senior Mechanical Engineer, send a CV to James Charlett
