Senior BrewerLeicesterCompetitive Salary3 weeks 0600-1400 Mon-Fri, 1 week 1400-2200 Mon-Thurs & 1/2 Day Fri with 4 hours on the weekend

  • The Company:ER Recruitment are excited to be working exclusively with our client, Everards of Leicestershire, at their new flagship site at Everard Meadows for the opening of the Beer Hall.Everards is a regional family brewery founded in 1849 by William Everard. It is headquartered in Leicestershire, employs over 70 people and produces c16,000 barrels of beer a year. The business owns 170 pubs which are operated by independent Business Owners (franchises employing over 3000 people) and have other Commercial Property assets mainly in the Midlands.The Chairman, Richard Everard, is the fifth generation of the family to lead the business. Everards is very much an independent family business with the significant majority of shares held by family interests. It is firmly committed to remaining independent with Richard’s son to become Chairman (who is currently Deputy Chairman) in due course. Richard’s daughter is also a Non-Executive Director. The Managing Director, Stephen Gould, joined Everards as a Trade Director in 2003 before becoming Managing Director in 2005. Although the brewery has been in existence for over 170 years, it embraces change with the support of the family and the Board.They have an amazing team culture and a fresh and vibrant attitude to all things food and beverages related and are now seeking a Senior Brewer to join them!Role & Responsibilities of the Senior Brewer:
  • Working with the Head Brewer you be responsible for completing all aspects of the brewing and packaging operation
  • The initial start-up and commissioning of the new brewery, which will be an excellent opportunity to learn and have input into brewery processes.
  • Complete production plans in the brewing and processing areas to ensure that beer is available on time and to the highest quality standards to fulfil the packaging plan.
  • Operate as part of the team completing a high-quality packaging operation in cask racking, kegging, bottling, mini-kegging and canning.
  • Working with the team, help to develop procedures and best practice in a new brewery, with huge scope to shape the way the operation runs.
  • Ensure that the brewery is maintained to the highest standards of hygiene and safety.
  • Work closely with internal teams such as Logistics, Marketing and Trade Quality to ensure the needs of customers are understood and met.
  • Facilitation of pilot brewery days which cover publicity events, experience days for members of the public and our own internal R&D where you can have input into the design and recipe creation of our new beers.
  • About You as the Senior Brewer:
  • You’ll have to have a real passion for brewing quality beer and making sure that processes are always carried out to the very highest standard.
  • You will also need to have an understanding of brewing technology so that you can adapt to changes in materials and observations to keep the process on track.
  • Qualifications and experience in brewing would be ideal, and if you want to learn more and improve your skills and knowledge, then this is something that we are keen to encourage and support.
