The next 5 years will continue to build on this success and our growthto provide a modern, safe, and inspiring environment that our students and staff have come to expect.RoleThis role is part of the 24 hour rotating shift Security presence responsible for keeping the university, its community and its assets safe and secure.. You will have a good level of all round fitness and an understanding of security and safety requirements.The role demands that you are inquisitive, numerate and literate. Whilst being able to work alone with minimum supervision, you must also be a good team member. Rotating shifts will be worked throughout the year including weekends and bank holidays. You willneed to be able to patrol on foot both at street level and in buildings, where required. Use stairs to gain access to high rise buildings. The role will demand a degree of flexibility in order to support the main activities of the security section. Whilstall round security skills are required. Training will be given for specific areas of the role, where required. All applicants should evidence the requirements asked for, in their application.Salary is £20,600 - £24,174 +20% shift allowance.Ideal CandidateApplicants who have previous experience in a similar role and have good customer services skills should apply. You will need to be honest and objective in your outlook with an ability to provide a highly professional service to a diverse community of studentsand staff, using good communication and interpersonal skills.Good observational skills and assessment skills are needed along with taking responsibility for decision making in dynamic situations. You will be computer literate, familiar with Microsoft word processing packages, and able to type reports and deal withemails.You must produce a current full driving license for Category B vehicles.
