We are recruiting for 2 SAP Senior Developers within our Directorate of Information Technology and Media Services. De Montfort University (DMU) is an ambitious, globally-minded institution with a relentless focus on delivering excellent teaching and learning,high-quality research and a sector-leading student experience.Faculty / DirectorateThe contribution of the Information Technology and Media Services (ITMS) directorate is essential in the delivery of the corporate strategy for the university to maintain the quality of its provision and its distinctiveness.SAP Solution and Delivery is central to support the core DMU Business Functions where SAP implementation for HR/Payroll Finance, SLCM (Student Lifecycle Mgmt.), Marketing & Student CRM (using C4C and Hybris Marketing) has enhanced DMUs Digital capabilityto support both Students and Staff functions of De Montfort University. SAP Centre team comprises of SAP Functional, SAP Security and SAP Development and non-SAP developers. Our Service delivery comprises of BAU Support & Enhancements, SAP Upgrades, SAP Licensing, SAP Projects to implement changes for various business functions of DMU.The SAP Senior Developer roles will be part of the SAP Build Team which comprises of ABAP, UI5, Workflow, PI/PO, Security and no-SAP development skill sets amongst team members.RoleThe salary for this role ranges between £39,739- £50,296. All successful candidates will be appointed to the first incremental point of the advertised salary banding except where a higher incremental point is justified. We are looking for experienced deliveryfocussed SAP Senior Developers to join our fast paced innovative and multiskilled SAP Build Team. The role demands to proactively lead design, build, and be integral part of SAP Solution delivery at DMU. These roles are SAP specialist development roles reportingto the SAP Build Lead. Individuals are expected to manage SAP deliverables with cost to benefit ethos.Key principles of the team for this role are quality, simplification of solution, scalability and re-use. In the SAP Senior Developer roles other than engaging with SAP Functional, SAP Security, SAP Basis team members, there will be a need to engage in technicaland innovative design discussions across ITMS with non-SAP technical and application teams.Ideal CandidateWe are looking for candidates who have excellent SAP Development skills in ABAP, Workflow or UI5 and have the skill to develop solutions keeping the focus on business process needs.To be successful in this role, you should have the ability to translate requirements into design, estimate efforts, break down tasks, and good quality scalable code, be highly motivated, resourceful and approachable, have a proactive work ethic and possessexcellent analytical and problem resolution skills with high attention to detail.You will be tenacious, confident and proactive in challenging the accepted view whilst maintaining a positive team approach with colleagues in ITMS and across the wider university, ensuring that staff and students are at the heart of every service delivery.DMU strives for our staff to be as diverse as our student body.
