Job Description

Production Manager - Fabrics & WallpapersFull time, permanent Leicester Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5pmFriday 9.30am to 5pm£40,000 - £45,000 Depending on ExperienceDue to the growth of their fabrics and wallpapers business our client is looking for an experienced Production Manager to manage their Leicester based fabrics team. This is a new role, reporting to the Product Director, with responsibility for the criticalpath and manufacturing schedules of their British made fabrics and wallpapers through to fulfilment. You and your team will ensure our workshops are meeting lead times, quality expectations, goods in, stock levels and sampling requirements.Working with the Product Director, CFO and Head of Sales Operations the chosen candidate will be involved in the organisation and implementation of their expanding fabrics and wallpapers business. You will be responsible for the recruitment and managementof new team members. Using your industry experience, you will set key performance indicators to implement best practice and procedures across the fabrics and wallpapers business. Success in the role will demonstrate quantifiable improvements in quality, efficiency,sustainability, and margin.Duties and Responsibilities: Workshop Production Management

  • Maintaining a good understanding of the supply chain and sourcing of fabric
  • Implementation of best practice and procedures
  • Monitor workshops against performance KPIs
  • Lead tactical response to supply chain problems impacting service performance and customer satisfaction
  • Set KPIs on stock. Tracking the stock position to ensure we are holding the right stock to grow sales
  • Responsible for demand and supply forecasting, inventory planning and capacity management to meet the needs of our clients
  • Ensure regular discussions with suppliers take place to identify opportunities for quality improvements or cost savings
Finance
  • Working with the CFO to negotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing
  • Display a good understanding of the budget and coding system to provide a clear transition from supplier orders to the approval of supplier invoices in Finance. Keeping track and within the agreed cost budget
  • Be responsible for monthly reports generated by our Intech software and feed back to the Product Director
Warehouse & Logistics
  • Monitor and manage stock rotation
  • Make decisions regarding the movement, storage and processing of inventory with focus on the most efficient levels for the business
Qualifications for the Position:
  • 5 years + experience in the fabrics and wallpapers industry. We are particularly interested in meeting candidates who have experience with British manufacturers and high quality production techniques
  • Degree level education, ideally in business management and/or textiles
  • Experience with SAP Business 1 an advantage
  • Proven experience of managing a team, able to mentor and train others
  • Driving licence and happy to use your own car for work travel- Expenses paid
  • Office based role, with an option for flexible working after probation period
  • Willing to travel to London head office, key suppliers and workshops as required
