The service has forged strong links andeffective partnerships with local, national and international employers from a broad range of industries and sectors.Offering an exciting opportunity to join our Placements team within the wider multi award-winning Careers and Employability team, this role sits within the Directorate of Student and Academic Services (SAAS), which provides a range of advice, guidance andsupport to students around internships, placements, volunteering and graduate jobs.RoleTo support our delivery plans we are currently seeking to recruit a Placement Coordinator. The purpose of this role is to work as part of the Placement teams to provide an excellent level of support and advice to our students. This will be a busy role liaisingwith students, placement providers and academic colleagues every day. You will build knowledge about specific industries and job roles and offer support to students applying and preparing for placements.You will also deliver engaging briefings, workshops and events, and coordinate communications with students via social media and other channels. The accurate capture and processing of student participation data will be a further important aspect of the role.The role is on a full time (37 hours per week), fixed term contract until 30th September 2023. The position can be carried out on a hybrid basis. We would also consider part time applicants for a job share. If you are applying on a part time basis pleasestate within your application the number of days/hours you are looking for.Ideal CandidateThe successful candidate will have excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills as the ability to build rapport with students is important in this role. They will also demonstrate strong organisational skills as a supportive memberof the Careers and Employability Team, a problem-solving approach and enthusiasm for teamwork.
