The service has forged strong links andeffective partnerships with local, national and international employers from a broad range of industries and sectors. Offering an exciting opportunity to join our Placements team within the wider multi award-winning Careers and Employability team, this rolesits within the Directorate of Student and Academic Services (SAAS), which provides a range of advice, guidance and support to students around internships, placements, volunteering and graduate jobs.RoleTo support our delivery plans we are currently seeking to recruit a Placement Coordinator. The purpose of this role is to work as part of the Placement teams to provide an excellent level of support and advice to our students.You will be expected to:

  • Liaise with students, placement providers and academic colleagues every day.
  • Build knowledge about specific industries and job roles
  • Offer support to students applying and preparing for placements in these industries; typically computing, engineering and media.
  • Deliver engaging briefings, workshops and events
  • Coordinate communications with students via social media and other channels
  • Accurately capture and process student participation data
The role is on a full time (37 hours per week), fixed term contract to cover a maternity leave. The position can be carried out on a hybrid basis with the expectation of 3 days on campus however, there does need to be some flexibility with this.Ideal CandidateThe successful candidate will:
  • Have excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills as the ability to build rapport with students is important in this role
  • Demonstrate strong organisational skills as a supportive member of the Careers and Employability Team
  • Have a problem-solving approach and enthusiasm for teamwork
  • Experience of working in a busy customer facing environment
  • Excellent knowledge of working with databases and/or CRM systems
