We have a vacancy for a Metrology Engineer / CMM Programmer.Role Accountabilities: Creation of new CMM programmes, working closely with NPI & Engineering. Improving existing CMM programmes to give better performance in both accuracy and speed. Responding to measurement issues and developing solutions. Resident trainer on inspection techniques, both manual and mechanical . Lead activities involving CMM improvement projects. Ensure the CMM calibration schedule is maintained Ensure the CMM equipment inventory is maintained and purchased. Lead Gauge R&R/SPC/MSA studies. To act as the Subject Matter Expert regarding the measurement systems and processes to be employed for component measurement and verification and to ensure that best practice is employed within the business. Develop robust, cost effective and practical inspection methodologies using appropriate measuring equipment suitable for products throughout the life cycle. This includes but is not limited to Coordinate Measuring Machines, Digital Scanning Technology, manualmeasuring equipment etc. Deliver reverse engineering data from reports to engineering Complete measurement systems analysis (MSA) in line with current standards to ensure that the processes employed meet the necessary requirements.Person Specification: Worked within an Aerospace/Automotive production environment Strong knowledge of CMM programming PCDMIS would be beneficial, but other CMM experience is readily considered In-depth knowledge of conventional methods of component measurement The ability to read complex engineering drawings.
