Job Description

Due to the growth of the business a new opportunity has become available for a Membership Team Leader, with a background in financial services, to join our team here in Leicester.Job title:Membership Team LeaderDepartment:MembershipLocation:Office based in Leicester, LeicestershireSalary:Dependent on qualifications / experience c. 30-33kMain purposes of the role - Responsible for the Membership TeamTo manage the activities of the Membership department to deal with onboarding of members and advisers, check ongoing fitness and propriety and dealing with termination of membership / authorisations.To co-ordinate the risk management procedures and risk reviews.Key Tasks of a Membership Team Leader:

  • Management of the Membership Team, including coaching, 1:1s, training and performance reviews to ensure they have the necessary knowledge and skills
  • Assessment of recruitment applications to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards
  • Management of progress of applications, member referencing, initial training attendance and authorisation of members and advisers
  • Manage maintenance of the Membership database to accurately record status and permission levels
  • Management of ongoing fitness and propriety of members and advisers
  • Processing suspensions and terminations and dealing with references for exited members and advisers
  • Conduct checks to ensure complete documentation for membership have been assessed and retained to the appropriate database and filing systems
  • Produce reports and maintain records of activities specified by Senior Management
  • Provide appropriate guidance to Appointed Representatives, their Advisers and their employees when dealing with applications to join the network
  • Report wilful misrepresentation and/or false documentation to the Compliance Director and agree appropriate remedial action
  • To maintain ongoing competency through development of personal training plans in conjunction with Compliance Director
  • Co-ordination of risk management procedures and reviews
  • This list is not exhaustive and other relevant duties will be undertaken in relation to the job.
Qualifications / Experience Required
  • CeMAP / equivalent professional financial services qualification
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in financial services
  • Demonstrable supervisory skills including managing and coaching
  • Process / Compliance background
  • Good team player, but with a definite ability to work under own initiative
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft applications
