Job Description

This newly created role is a great opportunity for a Manager with a technical or marketing background in the built environment (e.g. construction, housing or concrete industries) to develop their experience, skills, and public profile further in our leadingUK Trade Association.Within the post, you will have the chance to contribute to an essential industry critical to the UK construction and manufacturing. sector. Essentially, you will be helping our Members by providing technical and market support: they include manufacturers of concrete blocks, aircrete blocks and mortars, and representing them on key UK and European standards committees.Likewise you will be representing our Association at construction industry, housing sector and built environment events, meetings and working groups, whilst developing and maintaining relevant industry contacts to favourably influence them to specify masonryand concrete construction products as sustainable construction materials of choice. In turn, you will have:- A technical background in the built environment such as the construction, housing or concrete industry, together with knowledge of masonry construction and the market for construction materials.- Ideally previous experience of industry committees and/or the development of standards and consensus across multi-disciplined contributors.- The capability to represent the masonry sector at a senior level to Government, industry and on national/international committees.- The interest, enthusiasm, and gravitas to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders with good written and presentational skills, understanding their issues and developing/delivering their construction solutions to improve their market share.Finally, this role is likely to appeal to a self-starter, who can manage a workload independently, but also works closely and effectively with colleagues.Our Leicester office is the primary location, but we are also happy to consider working from the London base or a home office based option.
