Job Description

Machine OperativeMetalis are working with a leading manufacturing company based in Leicester that specializes in plastics and producing high-quality plastic products for various industries. As part of their continued growth and commitment to excellence, they are seekinga Machine Operative to join their team. Ideally you will have experience of working within a production/manufacturing environment and a good willingness to learn new skills and develop a career for yourself.As a Machine Operative, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining machinery to produce accurate and high-quality plastic components. Your knowledge and experience will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient production processes and adherenceto quality standards.Job Duties:

  • Operate and monitor woodworking machinery, including beam saws, panel saws, and thicknessers, to cut, shape, and prepare plastic components according to specifications.
  • Set up and adjust machine settings, such as blade depth, feed speed, and cutting angles, to achieve precise cuts and dimensions.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure optimal performance and prevent any downtime.
  • Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality, productivity, and safety.
  • Perform quality checks on finished wood components to ensure they meet required specifications and standards.
  • Collaborate with the production team to troubleshoot and resolve any machine-related issues or technical problems.
Job Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a production/machine operative within a production/manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of machinery, tools, and their operations would be advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and work instructions to perform machine operations accurately.
  • A valid Reach or Counterbalance FLT licence would be advantageous, but not essential.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Salary & Hours:
  • Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 per annum(Dependant on experience)
  • Overtime paid at 1.5x after 40 hours.
  • Rotating shifts -
Week 1 Monday - Friday 06:00am - 14:00pmWeek 2 Monday - Friday 13:45pm - 21:45pm
  • Position Type: Permanent, Full-time
