Job Description

An exciting opportunity to join a household name in the construction and building materials industry as a Logistics and Supply Chain Solution Design Manager.The role would allow the successful individual great autonomy to drive not only their own position, but the Logistics and Supply Chain function forward and so we are looking for someone with the capability to find innovative and creative routes that helpprogress the function.The ideal candidate would be highly driven and able to take command of a team, while having the expertise to coach and mentor the team and help them improve too. Specific industry experience isnt vital in this role, but being able to plan and design logisticand supply chain processes is an important part of this role too.Based in Desford, the role would offer flexible working depending on business needs, so allows you to be able to work from home if you wish to do so. There is also an attractive package of between £50,000 to £62,000 pa as well as 27 days holiday, 12% Bonus,medical cover, pension and share schemes and free parking!Responsibilities:

  • Manage 3rd party storage solutions including material flow & transport to meet production requirements.
  • Take a facility-wide view of supply chain planning processes and tools, in order to coordinate the efforts of multiple teams across functions and divisions.
  • Responsible for team that is performing work to achieve supply chain performance targets focused on inventory control, inventory flow and improved order-to-delivery results.
  • Coordinates and manages projects e.g., warehouse storage design, space utilisation, kitting or lean methodology including replenishment methods.
  • Coordinates and manages team to support daily logistical operational requirements.
  • Determines appropriate equipment and staffing levels to manage movement of materials at the facility.
  • Responsible for developing and managing department budget and capital expenditure.
  • Coordinates teams to develop logistics metrics, utilising analytical tools to improve efficiency and monitor performance.
  • Develop operating strategies, plans and procedures.
  • Conduct logistical studies to identify cost reduction or process improvement opportunities
