It is our personalised approach that is seeing leaseholders turn to us rather than the much bigger block management companies.If youre passionate about accounting and want to work for a company that is trying to get trust back in the industry, by being fully transparent and customer focussed, then please apply.Get to know us www.mvnblock.co.ukRoles and responsibilitiesOverseeing the communal parts of blocks/estates across England, the core activities revolve around the collection of service charges and the provision of maintenance, insurance, and major works.A Junior Accountants position has arisen within our team for a committed accountant to undertake the following duties with ongoing training and support:

  • Undertaking monthly Bank Reconciliations
  • Preparing Service Charge Year End Accounts for review and approval by external Accountants
  • Issuing Service Charge Year End Accounts once signed off by external Accountants.
  • Once Service Charge Budgets are prepared assist with imputing onto systems and issue demands as and when needed
  • Raising Management Fees and Invoices
  • Managing outstanding debt and chasing leaseholders for overdue invoices
  • Answering telephones calls and responding to email enquiries which are service charge accounts based and replying to leaseholder accounts enquires as and when necessary.
  • Update financial and non-financial data and information in databases to ensure that details are accurate and up to date.
  • Assisting with ad-hoc reports
  • Assisting with monthly management accounts
Candidate requirements
  • At least one year’s Property Accounting experience
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with other computer and accounting software is desirable.
  • Accustomed with using Xero
  • A team player
  • Has an ambitious can-do’ approach to work
  • Demonstrable history of process improvement initiatives
The successful Junior Accountant will work Mon - Fri 9am to 6pm being fully remote (homebased) with occasional travel for team meetings.Salary for the successful Junior Accountant will range from £23k - £27k (depending on experience and qualification) with ongoing reviews and uplifts based on tenure and progression.The successful candidate will also receive training from the Property Institute (IRPM & ARMA) for service charge accounting.If you are an Accountant who meets the above criteria and would like to express your interest or find out more, please apply now for immediate consideration/further info.
