Job Description

Job Title: Homelessness Prevention OfficerLocation: LeicesterContract Type: Up to 6 months (Likely to extend)Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pmDriving: DesirableEnhanced DBS: EssentialHybrid Working: 2 days in the office, 3 days at home once trained (more during training)Our organization is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as a Homelessness Prevention Officer based in Leicester. This role is initially offered on a up to 6-month contract with a high likelihood of extension, reflecting the ongoingdemand for our services. The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pm, contributing to our efforts to prevent and relieve homelessness in the city.Key Responsibilities:Customer Service: Utilize strong customer service skills in interactions with clients, both via contact centre communication and face-to-face interactions.Case Management: Hold and manage cases efficiently, providing comprehensive support to clients in accordance with the Homelessness Strategy and relevant statutory legislation.Prevention and Resolution: Assist customers in retaining their present accommodation or finding alternative housing solutions, aligning with our mission to prevent and relieve homelessness.Hybrid Working: Once trained, enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid working model, spending 2 days in the office and 3 days working remotely. During the training period, there may be a requirement for more office-based work.Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in homelessness prevention and resolution is highly desirable.
  • Background in Housing, particularly with knowledge of homelessness issues, is preferred.
  • Enhanced DBS is essential.
  • Strong customer service skills are a must.
  • IT proficiency, including Outlook and Microsoft packages, is essential.
  • Driving is desirable for mobility purposes.
  • Communication: Ability to engage in formal correspondence, including written letters to various parties.
