Job Description

Health & Safety Officer RequiredOur client is a world renowned designer and manufacturer of high power electrical resistors used in electricity generation, transmission and distribution as well as in the industrial automation, marine, telecoms and rail transit markets. Due to their ongoingexpansion, there is a current requirement for a part-time Health & Safety Officer.The role is ideal for an ambitious and motivated individual, keen to contribute to a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will possess a strong working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and best practice and have relevant experiencein a manufacturing company.Health & Safety Officer - Position Overview

  • Take the lead on all Health and Safety activities onsite, including creating and maintaining accurate and up to date health and safety records (including risk assessments, policies accident investigations, training)
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, including incident reports, inspection findings, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide safety training and education to employees on topics such as hazard recognition, emergency response, and safe work practices.
  • Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability.
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to workplace safety.
  • Assist with the development, improvement and auditing of the health and safety systems (including ISO 45001)
Health & Safety Officer - Position Requirements
  • Experience as health and safety officer (or similar) within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with ISO 45001 (desirable)
  • NEBOSH qualification (desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and best practices
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficient in report writing and data analysis
Health & Safety Officer - Position Remuneration
  • 24 Hours per week
  • Any days & time (Mon-Fri between 7am & 5pm)
  • Salary: £21,000
