Head of People Services9 month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover)Leicester/Hybrid£70,000p.a.

The Company:ER Recruitment is working with a large, respected business who are continuing to grow and recruit. They are looking for a Head of People Services to join their team to cover a maternity period to drive the team and their development forward as well as pushthe HR Systems to their full potential.Role & Responsibilities of the Head of People Services:HR Service/Delivery
  • Develop interaction model, Internal Communications and Engagement Manager and L&D manager to ensure complementary ways of working across teams.
  • Identify areas of opportunity and implement solutions to centralise broader HR services.
  • Ensure transactional colleague service routines are managed well and in the most efficient way possible, applying quality checks on key workflows.
  • Support the team with employee relations matters, TUPE, and tribunals to minimise business risk.
  • Provide overall governance and reporting on the full range of colleague services to the People Director and ensuring appropriate oversight of routine checks to ensure compliance.
  • Act as Lead to ensure continuous improvement efforts are prioritised appropriately.
  • Provide team training on new or changed processes and procedures and take ownership of their continuous professional development.
  • Provide a pro-active and high-quality HR service ensuring all SLA’s and KPI’s are met.
  • Contribution to the development, execution and governance of HR strategy and plan, including budget development and delivery of identified projects.
Policies and Procedures
  • Develop, implement, and review appropriate policies and procedures to comply with legislative requirements and relevant terms and conditions.
  • Ensure all services delivered are done so in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.
Data Management and Reporting
  • Management of the team to collate, prepare KPI information, reports.
  • Ensure effective maintenance of all appropriate records, including HR systems and databases.
  • Monitor employment legislation developments, liaise with legal counsel, assess the impact, and develop processes and a communication plan to maintain compliance.
  • Proactive and commercially astute collaboration with designated HRBP in the management of all tribunal / employee claims, liaising with external legal teams as required.
Continuous Improvement and Projects
  • Keep abreast of HR technology and best practice solutions for delivery of services.
  • Deliver a range of HR improvement projects to ensure that the processes are efficient and effective, whilst engaging the employee base.
People Leadership
  • Undertake the day-to-day management of the team.
  • Hold regular 1-1 meetings, team meetings, performance management, career discussions and effective coaching and direction with team members.
  • Manage the teams’ work, improvement projects ensuring co-ordination and allocation of work, quality assurance and continuous improvement activities to agreed plans.
  • Work closely with ER advisor and HRBP’s to improve how HR transactions are managed based on creating process efficiencies, feedback from colleagues.
About You as the Head of People Services:
  • Experience at a Head of People level with experience in strategic leadership
  • CIPD qualified
  • Proven background in reviewing and building new processes
  • Ability to analyse data and produce meaningful reports to board level.
  • Experience leading a team of at least 5 direct reports
  • It would be advantageous if you have experience in a shared service HR environment
