Grafton Recruitment are recruiting on behalf a Public Sector Organisation to appoint a Head of Healthcare Intelligence on a 6-month contract. The successful Head of Intelligence will lead a small team of data analysts to provide the evidence, tools, analysis and insights to inform strategic decision making across the Midlands Direct Commissioning directorate. The post-holder will be passionate about the contribution they can make to effective decision making and will provide the leadership to develop a high-performing team. The person will bring technical expertise across disciplines such as health economics, data science and statistics and will champion data-driven decision making to ensure that commissioning is underpinned by evidence. They will be experienced in leading teams to undertake analysis to address complex business problems and confident managing multiple customer requirements. Experience required for the role:* Significant experience of conducting complex analysis in a health setting* Demonstrable experience of delivering results through the development and leadership of analytical teams* Experience of communicating the results of complex analysis to a range of stakeholders* Experience of applying techniques from specialist analytical disciplines in healthcare settings such aso Epidemiologyo Operational researcho Econometricso Statistical modellingo Statistical process control* Experience of using specialist analytical and data management software (e.g. R, Stata, QGIS, SQL)As a successful Head of Healthcare Intelligence, you will be/have:* Able to structure problems and draw out customer requirements from conflicting and partial information* Highly developed data manipulation and interpretation skills* Highly proficient in the use of Excel, SQL and R* Provide and receive highly complex, sensitive and contentious information, negotiate with senior stakeholders on difficult and controversial issues, and present complex and sensitive information to large and influential groups* Strategic thinking - ability to anticipate and resolve problems before they arise.* Problem solving skills and ability to respond to sudden unexpected demands* Clear communicator with excellent writing, report writing and presentation skills; capable of constructing and delivering clear ideas and concepts concisely and accurately for diverse audiences* Ability to build effective cross functional working relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders to drive organisational agendaTo be considered for the role, you must be educated to Masters degree in data science/economics/statistics or similar and have strong background within healthcare intelligence.We are looking for a data driven and analytical individual with strong leadership skills.The successful candidate will be able to work from home to begin with however regular travel to the Leicester office will be required (when it is safe to do so).
