Head of Data & BI / Data & Business Intelligence DirectorLeicester / Home based (plus some travel between group sites)£80,000-£90,000 pa.The Role SummaryThe Head of Data & Business Intelligence will be an expert leader able to drive the vision for Data and Business Intelligence. They will define and manage the journey from a variety of reporting silos using historically mismatched data sources, to a sharedservice that supports local, central and combined reporting and drives high quality outputs based on consistent and safe self-service use of data across the group, to ensure business insights based on one version of the truth.This influential new role will be responsible for managing a wide range of stakeholders and shaping the central data strategy, working with data owners and group IT to agree consistent approaches to data definition, storage, extraction and management.A critical part of the role will be to create an expert bridge between business area owners with local reporting teams and the relevant teams within IT who currently control the extraction of data from core systems, ensuring that data critical to managingbusiness operations (including existing blind spots) is available on demand using the most appropriate methods and technologies.Balancing short term reporting needs against a medium term strategy will be vital to ensuring that existing reporting is unimpeded by the transformation agenda and it is critical that existing tools such as Power BI are used to their full potential.The role will be supported by a core team supporting business areas as BI Business Partners, as well as some central reporting capability, and will transform reporting and insight within the group, significantly contributing to the success of the groupas a whole.Key Activities & Responsibilities:

• Root and Branch review of group reporting data to identify optimum strategy for improved data structures and management
• Defining the group wide Business Intelligence and Data Strategy
• Overseeing the group wide roll-out of self-service BI
• Developing a strong BI business partnering capability that proactively helps business areas define reporting that supports their goals
• Leading a group-wide prioritisation process for central reporting and bespoke data extraction and assess the optimal level of resource required to deliver agreed objectives
• Strategically managing an enterprise wide data warehouse implementation (if required)
• Developing long term plan to enable data use for predictive analytics

• Ongoing responsibility for data standards and best practice analytical methodologies
• Ongoing management of BI Business partner function to ensure that business area needs for data and self-service / bespoke reporting can be met.

Skills & Knowledge Required:Essential

• A wealth of experience either in analytics, business intelligence or Senior IT data role
• Track record of leading the transformation of a complex group BI function
• Several years experience of successfully leading and coaching analytical teams
• Excellent understanding of Power BI capability & limitations
• Results oriented, entrepreneurial, and self-motivated
• Extensive expertise in data modelling
• Commercial understanding of corporate and operational business issues.
