Job Advert: Group Finance Director - Multisite Retail BusinessAre you a dynamic and strategic financial leader with a passion for driving growth in a multisite retail environment As the Group Finance Director, you will play a crucial role in shaping the financial strategy of a multisite retail business, which is experiencingsignificant growth through acquisition.Company Background: Our client is a leading multisite retail business operating across various locations nationally, selling to individual customers and businesses. With a great brand behind them, the business is growing through both acquisition and organicsales growth. Role Overview: As the Group Finance Director, you will report directly to the Managing Director and be an integral part of the senior leadership team. Your primary responsibility will be to provide strategic financial guidance and insights to support businessdecisions and drive growth initiatives across the organisation. You will be responsible for overseeing financial planning, analysis, and reporting, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and establishing robust financial controls across all sites.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement financial strategies to support the companys growth objectives in a multisite retail environment.Provide financial leadership and guidance to the finance team of c. 25 people, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration.Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.Collaborate with operational leaders to drive cost optimisation, efficiency, and profitability across all sites.Lead financial planning and budgeting processes, monitoring performance against targets and identifying areas for improvement.Assess and manage financial risks, developing contingency plans as needed.Oversee cash flow management, working capital, and capital allocation strategies.Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.Stay up-to-date with industry trends, economic conditions, and relevant financial regulations to inform decision-making.Evaluate potential acquisition opportunities from a financial standpoint and contribute to the due diligence process.Requirements:Qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a strong academic background.Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role within a multisite retail environment is essential.Solid understanding of retail industry dynamics, challenges, trends and opportunities.Demonstrated ability to drive financial performance, growth, and profitability with experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.Excellent analytical skills and the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of developing and motivating sizeable teams (15 people plus).Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, capable of building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders across multiple sites.Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions.Flexibility to adapt to a rapidly changing business environment.Please note this role requires applicants who are happy to work from the office 5 days a week with regular travel to stores across the companies stores.Please put your home postcode on your CV when applying.
