Job Description

A fast-growing consumer products company is seeking a UK Financial Controller to lead the accounting organization. The consumer products company is a leader in their space and specializes in the manufacture and design of innovative hardware powered by technology.You will be responsible for producing all core accounting processes (AP, AR, Payroll, etc.), inventory reporting, month-end reporting, statutory accounts preparation, GAAP reporting to the US parent, and tax. The role reports to the US International Controllerand will also support local leadership. The UK entity is wholly owned by an exciting and well-known US consumer products company which recently went public and is listed on the NYSE.Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the general ledger, including preparation of journal entries, coding of invoices, closing the books monthly, account analysis and reconciliation
  • Oversee disbursement of company funds according to the companys policy
  • Oversee the companys payroll processing
  • Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts, allowing for GAAP adjustments and achieving the reporting deadlines locally and to the US Parent
  • Ensure all accounting policies are effectively implemented
  • Month end close and consolidation of full P&L, balance sheet & cash flow
  • Establish, implement and monitor appropriate internal controls to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and other statutory requirements
  • Work alongside the Finance lead to support informed decision-making by reporting and analyzing financial data.
  • Research accounting issues using appropriate guidance, recommend appropriate accounting, and write memos to support conclusions in accordance with US GAAP, IFRS, and/or foreign GAAP
  • Be the key senior contact for the external auditors to ensure the successful execution of the annual audit and quarterly reviews
  • Build strong/effective relationships across Finance, Supply Chain and Commercial functions to create improved awareness of the control agenda with a focus on process improvement
Candidate Requirements:
  • You must be a fully qualified Chartered Accountant
  • Public accounting experience is preferred
  • Experience with Sarbanes Oxley 404 controls
  • Experience reporting into a US-based, public company parent is preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of multi-currency and intercompany transactions preferred
  • Experienced and technically very strong in operating within accounting systems
  • You will have a minimum of x-x years
  • Experience in consumer products is preferred
  • Influential and positive and always a team player
  • Experience managing a growing team
