Job Description

Temporary Financial Systems Officer required for a Local Authority based in the Leicester. This is for an initial 3 month basis but is likely to be extended.The purpose of the role is:To contribute to the efficient and effective financial management of the authority including the support and development of the Councils financial systems and processes.The main day to day tasks will be to:

  • Complete administration tasks for the Councils finance system.
  • Setting up users
  • Undertake project work in relation to the Councils finance systems.
  • Reviews, develops and implements financial systems and procedures.
  • Assists with system improvements.
  • Identifies training requirements and then develops co-ordinates and delivers formal and informal training and user documentation.
  • Completes specific tasks and specialist support as allocated by the Head of Finance / Chief Accountant/Exchequer Manager and as appropriate to the level of the postholder.
    • In order to be considered you must have:
  • AATor equivalent qualification or proven ability
  • Significant experience of accounting processes in a large organisation
  • Substantial experience of working with finance systems including administration and maintenance
  • Experience of extracting data from complex systems
  • Knowledge of public sector accounting procedures (Desirable)
  • Crystal Reporting experience (Desirable)
    • This is a great opportunity to temp on a potential more long term basis for a sizeable local authority in a location with great transport and commuting links. It is paying £14.46 per hour PAYE but you can also be paid a higher rate through an Umbrella Company.
