Job Description

Field Service Engineer - Midlands region (Home based) - ideally based in Hinckley, Leicester, Warwickshire, Coventry or Birmingham area)£41,208 basic + van + generous overtime + on £150 per week call out allowances + 5% matched pension + shift premiums + 33 days holiday (realistic OTE c£50k+ dependent on hours)Our client is recognized globally as a market leader in the provision of highest quality and efficient automated Materials Handling and sortation solutions for a diverse range of applications, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programmeof exciting strategic growth for 2023, they are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly capable multi skilled Field Service Engineer to complement their existing team of 20+ engineers covering the greater Midlands region and surrounding area.Based from home (ideally in the Hinckley, Leicester or Midlands area), the successful Field Service Engineer candidate will demonstrate a dynamic and articulate communication style and positive, proactive approach to both reactive and planned preventativemaintenance activities on a range of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and will thrive within a customer facing environment in which the highest levels of quality customer service and satisfaction are of paramount importance.Reporting to the Field Service Manager, after an initial training and induction period encompassing all aspects of Health and Safety and working at height, the successful candidate will carry out service calls on a preventative and reactive basis at customerpremises as required, undertaking Preventive Service Maintenance and repair of customers site equipment and other manufacturers products and systems, in full response to customers requirements, whilst communicating activity and requirements with the customerin a clear and concise manner, and reporting via job sheets the activities carried out and faults found during service before resolving servicing and maintenance issues. Working a standard 45-hour week, "Core" hours are between 6am and 10pm Monday to Fridayto satisfy customer requirements and an "on call" allowance of £150 is paid per week when "on rota".Complying with all Health and Safety Requirements, you will additionally aid in the installation and commissioning of any machines and will be flexible in your approach to the position and be able to carry out tasks with little or no site supervision, whilstpossibly being time restrained in carrying out that task, additionally supporting residential sites for holidays and sickness and working on the shift or weekend pattern of a particular site as appropriate.It is envisaged that the successful Field Service Engineer candidate will currently be working on Plant and Equipment, highly probably within a maintenance Environment, and will demonstrate experience of working with Materials Handling Equipment, Automaticprocess equipment with a solid mechanical background. You will be electrically Time Served and have multi-skilled experience and as the role is field based, you will be comfortable with working in various locations and varied environments under your own initiative.A full clean driving licence, HNC or above in a relevant engineering discipline and a time served electrical engineering background are therefore essential requirements for this role, as well as the flexibility to work at various locations performing overtimeand shift work as required, and in return an attractive benefits package, stability and genuine career progression opportunities are available.Call Premier Technical Recruitment on or email your cv in the strictest confidence to for further details.
