Job Description

Factory OperativesLocation: Leicester, Leicestershire, LE5 0LJSalary: Competitive, DOEContract: Full time, PermanentHours: Monday - Thursday 0800-1700 and Fridays 0800-1515Factory Operatives Required at our Leicester Hastings Road Facility!Neal Brothers are major specialist export packers of capital equipment established in 1916. With over 100 years of experience, this privately owned and professionally managed business offers fit-for-purpose export packing solutions, consolidation, warehousing, inspection and quality check of packing level worldwide.Our UK sites are situated in Leicester, Meltham, Silchester, Berkhamsted and Heathrow Airport.We manufacture timber and plywood cases and pack products that vary in type, size, weight, construction and material, with a large portfolio of clients.Factory Operatives - The role can be physically demanding due to the weight and size of some of the materials used, so an understanding of the following would be advantageous to the role;

  • Woodworking machinery - cross cut and rip saw
  • Working with wood in a previous role
  • Nail guns
  • Hand tools - hammer, tacker, safety knife and tape measure
  • Weighing Scales
  • Manual Handling - individual and combined
  • Mechanical Handling - Forklift truck, overhead crane, pallet truck
  • Understanding works instructions and ability to understand metric measurements.
  • Have safety awareness.
  • The ability to communicate well with a good level of numeracy, literacy and accuracy.
    • The above is desirable but training can be provided for suitable candidates.This is a diverse role as we undertake many different types of packing, work at customer sites (would need to able to work without supervision) and a flexible and positive approach to working and learning new things is essential. There may be the need to work additional hours when necessary, depending upon customer requirements.Hours are Monday - Thursday 0800-1700 and Fridays 0800-1515, am and pm break and dinner break of 45 minutes.No agencies please Required skills
