Job Description

Electrical EngineerAdvantage Resourcing are looking for enthusiastic Electrical Engineer, for a class leading company based in Leicester who design and manufacture high power electrical resistors used in electricitygeneration, transmission and distribution as well as in the industrial automation, marine, telecomsand rail transit markets. The Electrical Engineer is required to provide expertise to support the engineering team with the design of electrical equipment for a range of industrial applications. This will include electrical best practice and implementationof industry standards.Responsibilities:* Review design requirements & assist engineering team with technical aspects of designsincluding specification of materials.* Produce design calculations and corresponding paperwork to manufacture designs.* Produce and approve drawings, BOMs and other design information.* Product testing when required.* R&D work as agreed with the Engineering Manager. To include design, set up and running of test equipment with the lead R&D engineer.* Compile and maintain an engineering library.* Conduct technical investigations, develop and maintain appropriate design and supportprocesses, carrying out root cause analysis and initiating corrective action as necessary.* Provide technical support to Production, Sales, Service and Customer Support.* To understand and apply relevant design, regulatory and industry standards.* To recognise new industry wide processes being developed and the opportunity to applythose within the Company.Qualifications and Experience Essential

  • Degree qualified in a role/industry relevant industry or HNC/HND or equivalent Industry
  • Relevant Project Management qualifications would be advantageous but not essential
  • Previous experience of working in a similar role
  • Experience with medium and high voltage design
  • Analyses and understands technical challenges.
  • Identifies long term technical development opportunities.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Highly skilled with Microsoft Excel.
  • Sound working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD package (preferably Autodesk)
  • Ability to work to deadlines
Desirable* Experience of working with sheet metal.* Experience of mechanical engineering practices - materials, FEA, fixings, fabrication etc.* Experience of product approval processes within the automotive industry.Remuneration
