Job Description

We assist all employers when they want to source public safety, housing and enterprise security skills and experience.Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference and possess the skills and dedication to lead a women’s refuge If so, we are currently recruiting on behalf of our charity client based in Leicester for a Domestic Abuse Refuge Manager.This is a full time, permanent role and offers a salary of £30,868.As a manager, youll lead the daily operations of our vital service. Your role will encompass a diverse array of responsibilities, including roster management, budget oversight, staff training, assisting with benefit claims, utilizing computer systems, andconducting informative sessions for local authorities, the public, and partner organizations.Main duties:

  • Provide managerial support to all aspects of the refuge. This is a 24-hour refuge which provides a safe place for women and their children who have been victims of domestic violence.
  • Responsible for the day to day running of this service. You will be doing rota’s, budgeting, managing staff, training staff, assisting with benefit claims, using computer systems, conducting talks and presentations to local authorities, the public and otherorganisations and much more.
Essential requirements:
  • Strong background in working with people who have been victims of domestic violence and abuse. You will have worked for a non-profit organisation and have a good knowledge of how the benefits system works.
  • Managerial experience in a similar setting and it would be advantageous if you have worked with people with complex needs before.
  • A solid understanding of the benefits system is crucial.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are a must, enabling you to cultivate positive relationships with colleagues, volunteers, external agencies, and service users.
  • A valid driving license, access to a vehicle, and business insurance are essential
