Job Description and SpecificationJob Title: Design DraughterReporting to: Engineering ManagerReportees: NoneWe supply to large contractors, OEMs and end users throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia.Job OverviewThe role will provide support to the engineering team. This will involve the design and development of electro-mechanical equipment for a range of industrial applications.This will include working to best practices and implementation of industry standards.This is a pivotal role to the business as the design team continue to develop innovative solutions to meet customer specifications, as well as develop and test products for new market applications.ResponsibilitiesReview design requirements & assist engineering team with technical aspects of designs including specification of materials. Produce drawings, BOMs and other design information issued for manufacture. Support R&D activities, as agreed with the Engineering Manager. This may include the design, setting up and running of test equipment, working alongside our lead R&D engineer. Provide support to Production, helping to resolve issues arising during the manufacturing process. To deliver projects on schedule and on budget, demonstrating the ability to handle the pressure of managing a complex range of projects, a high volume of work, within a fast pace of implementation. To understand and apply relevant design, regulatory and industry standards. To recognise new industry wide processes being developed and the opportunity to apply those within the Company.Location Leicester. Occasional travel may be required.Skills Essential Engineering drawing skills. Sound working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD package (preferably Autodesk) Ability to work with Microsoft Office suite of programs Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills. Ability to work to deadlinesDesirable Experience of working with sheet metal. Advanced Microsoft Excel user Working knowledge of mechanical engineering practices - materials, FEA, fixings, fabrication etc. Experience of designing equipment of electrical applications. An appreciation of simple electrical circuit design.Qualifications & Experience HNC/HND or equivalent Apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering Industry relevant experience Previous experience of working in a similar role Experience with medium and high voltage designCharacterPositive attitude to solving engineering problems.Consistency of quality of work and attention to detail.Interest in the product and its application.
