This is an exciting time to join us as we continue to grow our Brand team!The copywriter will have overall responsibility for crafting impactful and disruptive brand copy to support the group across a wide range of business areas across the CarShop and Sytner Group brands. Delighting colleagues is at the heart of Sytner Group,with an important function of this role being to work closely with internal departments to provide copy support for internal communications.Reporting into the Group Head of Brand, working as part of the brand team, this role presents an exciting opportunity to consistently speak with a brand voice to communicate effectively to colleagues, customers and communities.The Responsibilities Research, write, edit, and proof all levels of copy including headlines and body copy for all digital, print, external and internal needs Producing content to support SEO and the Sytner Group and CarShop websites Proofreading and providing constructive recommendations for improvement Work with the design team to support all creative briefs with effective copy Carry out research to support copy, including building relationships with contributors Maintain quality whilst adhering to high standards and tight deadlines within a fast-paced retail environment Understand and work within regulatory guidelines Always reflect the appropriate brand tone of voice, and being the brand copy and tone of voice guardian for both Sytner Group and CarShop Be flexible and complete ad-hoc copy related projects as required Undertake continuous professional development to help sharpen your copywriting and widen your skillset Working with and supporting external agencies with copywriting requirements Writing all scripts for in-house AV requirements Working with the Colleague Communications Manager and wider business on award entries Where necessary, copy support on presentations will be requiredThe Requirements Previous experience writing copy for commercial brand guidelines Bachelors degree or equivalent in English language; 2:1 or equivalent Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to develop clear and compelling communications Passionate about words and writing, and comfortable becoming the brand standard-bearer for all things copy Comfortable switching between writing styles Comfortable adopting current tone of voice guidelines, as well as developing or evolving new tone of voice guidelines Attention to detail is essential, with a keen eye for proofreading Be able to demonstrate examples of your skills using previous work Past experience presenting campaigns, or copy ideas to senior management Youll have a proven record of creating an accurate, clear, concise and grammatically correct copy A keen eye for detail is essential, alongside the ability to work well under pressure and manage workloads and multiple projects effectively An excellent communication style, and have a sound understanding of writing for digital channels A passion for cars Previous experience writing video or radio scriptsThe Desirables SEO knowledge to create optimised copy, including keyword research and meta descriptions Previous experience working in a similar role, in-house or within an agency Experience of content management systems and/or Email Service Provider platforms Past experience of writing AV scriptsWhy SytnerSytner Group are delighted to provide an industry-leading benefits package.We are passionate about continuous improvement and building an environment where everyone feels valued, appreciated and able to reach their full potential.Enhanced Holiday Entitlement - 33 days inc. bank holidaysIndustry-leading Maternity, Paternity and Adoption PayCareer DevelopmentRecognition of Long Service every 5 yearsDiscounted Car SchemesHigh Street DiscountsDiscounted Gym membershipsCycle to work schemeOne day a year paid voluntary / community workBusiness social eventsAt Sytner, our values and the way we behave are important to us.
