Job Description

This role is home based and supporting a region around the Midlands.Job Purpose:
  • Provide Technical Support within the busy and growing Service Department for world class automation systems.
  • Specialist Controls Equipment support for the growing installed base of MHE systems.
  • Assistance & support of the training and development of the Engineers with hardware/ software and competences.
  • Problem solving and support the wider team Nationally.
  • On Call Technical Support of the Field Service Department.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing technical support to the growing Service team
  • Help ensure that the Senior Engineers / Weight & Volume engineers have the required tools and facilities, hardware, software and training
  • Take the lead in customer escalations, requiring PLC / Controls support / Dial in support where required, using self or other appropriate resources.
  • Help facilitate and support the technical training of Resident Engineers, drawing on and involving expertise within the wider UK team.
  • Support the wider deployment of dial in and remote access capability, ensuring self and wider team members are equipped and able to dial in (Especially with customer specific requirements)
  • Provide technical escalation support as required.
  • Provide On Call Tech support as part of a rota.
  • PLC support and programming, testing and commissioning of all low-level controls systems for planned and reactive works.
  • Identifying technical opportunities for continuous improvement during the life-cycle of installed systems.
  • Identifying and resolving issues and identifying and making continuous improvements with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) as required.
  • Identify issues that are mechanical or logical in nature and escalate to the appropriate team for resolution.
  • Specify requirements for projects, change requests and new installations and agree written specifications with customer.
  • Work with the Field Service Engineers to Support activities such as Project Acceptance, Breakdowns, Change Requests, Rebuilds, Refurbishments, Technician on call, Testing, Commissioning, Ramp-up and Service Operations as required.
  • Develop test and commissioning plans, scripts and scenarios. Design test scenarios and write test protocols to identify system issues and support our customer’s test team for newly developed functionalities.
  • Create and update E-plans and drawings
  • Support the produce of technical estimates and quotations as required
