As a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Control System and Commissioning Engineer to complement their established professional team and deliver machine control system solutions allied to a range of automated machinery based projects.Working closely with the prestigious Head Office facility based near Leicester, you wll be tasked with writing and developing software, PLC & HMI coding for various automation projects, and will also be responsible for the electrical design and creation of machine control system solutions for a range of special purpose automated machinery projects. You will deliver control and safety systems which comply with the requirements of the machinery directive and associated relevant European and International standards and deliver electrical system designs, selection of components and generating detailed circuit diagrams and associate electrical documentation including cable schedules, installation documents and BOMs, and in the case of medical sector projects, working to the requirements of a regulated system such as GAMP 5.As control system and commissioning engineer, you will also be responsible for the integration of various robots, including Scara, Delta & 6-axis and will be able to communicate effectively to customers, suppliers and team members to ensure effective problem resolution, whilst working as part of a team dedicated to delivering projects to on time plan and budgetary constraints.Responsible for the correct selection and procurement of all relevant components, you will maintain clear and concise technical documentation, design specifications and associated machine manuals and will supervise electrical technicians and control the build of machine control systems through the project lifecycle.You will also provide assistance during the commissioning of machine control systems and perform machine testing and carry out FAT and SAT testing as required, and will be responsible for ensuring that the control system solutions are to budget and within required timescales whilst providing customer support that can include visits to customers site throughout the UK and to assist with the installation, commissioning and troubleshooting when required.To be considered for this varied and challenging role you will demonstrate comprehensive experience in electrical design for machine automation with utilising the ePlan design package, and will possess solid knowledge and understanding of the various national and international electrical standards for machine design and machine safety systems and requirements to CE mark machine systems.Realistically you will be qualified to HND level or above in electrical / electronic / controls engineering or a closely related control system discipline with a flexible approach to travel to customer sites across the UK if required.
