Job Description

Are you available in May/June for a 12 month FTCMy client in Leicester is looking for a commercial accountant to join them for a maternity cover.This role is not a numbers crunch, this is a real chance to make a difference across the business.... less month end, more analysis and strategy.What the role will include:

  • Supporting department Heads of and Managers to produce financial plans, budget and forecasts
  • Providing recommendations for continuous improvement of financial planning and reporting processes
  • Providing accurate Management Information and Business Information, providing insightful commentary as required to support business decisions
  • Creating regular and on demand reports for external stakeholders and departments and support to understand and interpret reports and metrics
  • Understand and communicate the drivers of departments’ performance variances and their implications through measuring performance against defined KPIs, Exploring trends and connections between KPIs, Conducting ad-hoc analysis
  • Identifying potential risks and opportunities to the departments through insightful and action-oriented analysis
  • Supporting the Head of Finance with ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic reviews
  • Developing robust business cases, working closely with the project managers
  • Supporting key projects using insight and analysis and make financially robust recommendations
  • Assuring project benefits are delivered
  • Taking a proactive approach to ensuring effective cost management
  • Sharing best practices between departments and encourage cross functional working
  • Proactively ensuring financial controls are implemented across the departments
  • Working closely with other Finance teams to continually improve end to end financial processes
  • Supporting process improvement projects within team to add greater value to analytical, planning and reporting processes
