Job Description

We provide infrastructure solutions to hospitals for their critical areas. Through our high quality products and services we help to improve patient outcomes by designing, manufacturing and servicing a range of products used in operating theatres.As a member of the design team you will use CAD design packages to draw customer specific products to a high standard. You will produce accurately detailed fabrication drawings and bills of materials in accordance with the customers need to allow shop floor manufacture and correct purchasing of components. Revising designs where necessary.Within the role of CAD Draughtsman/Design Engineer you will work alongside other members of the team to:

  • Create comprehensive CAD models / drawings working from existing product drawings in the drawing packages Autodesk AutoCAD and SolidWorks, generating detailed component, sub-assemblies and general assembly drawings.
  • Create simple renderings to accompany drawing packs
  • Create assembly instructions/ layout drawings to assist on site contractors
  • Work closely with creative designers and account managers to ensure products are developed to best meet our clients requirements.
  • Work on new and existing product design alongside the R&D manager including creating concept designs.
  • Work with our design manager and production team to development / make improvements to our core products, including assisting with product costings and working instructions.
  • Produce models in BIM of our products for larger projects, where we work directly with the main contractor / architects.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
    • Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Liaise with customer if required for clarification of drawings and requirements
  • Liaise with manufacturing during the manufacturing stage to ensure that designs are accurately realised
  • Liaise with Project managers and installation teams to fully understand the project requirements
  • Have an understanding of manufacturing technologies, process techniques and installation procedures. Some Electrical and or medial background would also be beneficial.
  • Adhere to standard drawing office procedures for design processes and project management
  • General drawing office administrative duties as required
  • Responsible for achieving and managing your individual workload within agreed parameters.
  • Responsible for updating your progress against work activities and professional development with your line manager through regular planned meetings
  • Responsible for continuous professional development and identifying ways and methods to continually update your own knowledge, skills, experience and competencies.
