Growing companies create new jobs, and my Engineering client in Leicester has created a new role for a Buyer. Probably better described as a "Technical Buyer" or an "Engineering Buyer" you will be purchasing the electrical and mechanical components and equipmentthat the Design Engineers ask for, so that production can build the various engineering systems that the customers need.You will identify suppliers for components and materials, and negotiate the supply, looking at costs, quality, and delivery times, keeping that ongoing relationship with the suppliers, to ensure timely supplies in future. Sometimes, it will be the repeatsupply of nuts, bolts and screws, other times it means buying a range of equipment, materials, components for a very technical project, a new machine, spares for that machine, some projects with short turarounds, and others needing parts to be delivered acrossa build time of 2-4 months. There is a lot of variety here- its never dull.What do we need An experienced Buyer, Purchaser.
