Seven Resourcing is working with Leicester City Council to recruit a Building Works & Adaptations Technician for their housing services.£19.13ph Umbrella£15.39ph PAYEInitial 3 month contract.Job Purpose:The effective and efficient maintenance, alteration and improvement of Council Homes, through the preparation, development and control of technical works.Duties:Undertakes a building / building services design role. Prepares contract documentation, including all necessary (CAD) drawings and specification etc.Visits properties and sites to inspect, or survey, for repairs and customer enquiries. Actions appropriately, either by obtaining quotations, or issuing an instruction to a contractor.Prepares plans / design drawings and tender documents. Designs renewals and improvements. Provides or obtains technical advice.Maintains ongoing financial appraisal of projects, and seeks quotations or tenders, and provides estimates.Controls on-site contractors work, meeting deadlines and stipulations, assessing for quality, issuing appropriate instructions and certifying payments. Seeks, and enforces legislative requirements.Advises and assists in the preparation of programmed work and the formulation of annual maintenance contracts.Researches and investigates new materials and methods of improving resource and energy usage.Carries out investigations into, and reports on, a variety of technical issues (e.g. insurance claims, complaints etc).Provides technical advice and guidance to less-experienced colleagues.Carry out other miscellaneous duties associated with the roleApplicant Requirements:- Qualifications: Knowledge of building construction and buildings services.Knowledge of Building Regulations, Approved Codes of Practice, British Standards and Health & Safety Legislation.- Experience: Experience of assessing and specifying new and corrective measures covering both Building and Services areas of work.Experience of building measurement and surveying, being able to provide cost estimates and producing final designs with technical specifications.Experience of supervising contractors and inspecting works to ensure predetermined standards are maintained covering both Building and Services areas of work.- Compliance: Up to date Passport- Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.- Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.Working with Seven Social Care:We have been helping social care professionals find exciting new roles for almost a decade, so we know exactly where to look when it comes to sourcing the best opportunities.
