Job Description

Area Sales Manager - Glass and WindowsJob title: Area Sales Manager - Glass and WindowsArea to be covered: East (Newcastle to London)Industry Sector: Solar Control Glass, Insulating Glass, Low E, Acoustic Glass, Double glazing, Sealed Unites, IGU, Aluminium Fabricators, Windows, Curtain Walling, Façade, Main Contractors and Specialist Glazing Sub ContractorsRemuneration: £45,000-£55,000 + 10-15% Bonus (year one)Benefits: Hybrid Company Car & full benefits packageThe role of the Area Sales Manager - IGU Insulated Double Glazed Glass Units will involve:

  • Project based field sales role, promoting high performance IGU insulated double glazed glass units
  • 50% selling to curtain wall and façade manufacturers and installers
  • 25% selling into aluminium fabricators, who in turn sell windows and frames to sub contractors
  • Remainder of time into small timber and aluminium retail businesses and sub and major contractors
  • Growing an area from £6m-£7m to £8m-£10m
  • Projects from £20,000-£500,000, average £75,000
  • Typically 8-10 customer visits per week (4 days per week) one day working from home/ admin
  • 85% account management, 15% new business with lapsed accounts
  • Loads of leads passed from specification sales teams from Saint Gobain, Pilkington (NSG), Guardian Glass and AGC Glass
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager - IGU Insulated Double Glazed Glass Units with:
  • Must come from within the glass or window industry
  • Open in respect of whom you have sold into
  • Proven track record in field sales
  • Proven skills and technical background in the commercial sector
  • Proven relationship building skills, with a genuine interest in helping our client to grow its business
  • Ability to build strong internal relationships
  • Energetic, positive and ability to negotiate at all levels
  • Hungry self starter, with a flexible approach
