Band 5 Youth Worker The role of A and E Navigator is a newly developed post aimed at identifying, supporting and referring young people who have entered the hospital system as a result of exploitation, violence and knife crime. The main focus of this pilot project is violence reduction. This is a new model of working for Leeds and will be an exciting opportunity for successful candidates to work within the NHS with young people who can be challenging to engage. The work will be shaped by a dedicated team of Navigators, aimed at working with young people aged 11-25 years who may be involved in antisocial behaviour, violence, gangs or illegal activity. The role will require shift work including twilight and weekends on a rota basis. This is a six month secondment role that is initially funded until 31st March 2021, it is anticipated that further funding will be established on completion of this initial pilot. It is expected that applicants will have good experience in having worked with hard to engage young people to achieve positive outcomes. Individuals applying for this post should also be willing and able to work autonomously to actively engage young people in the hospital setting, going the extra mile to locate and engage service users.Interviews will take place on 27.01.21For further information on the role please contact Matthew Guest on / or email or Helen Robinson on or email
