Job Description

I am currently recruiting to a Vehicle Inspector to work for my client, a public sector organisation based in Leeds (LS9).Duties of the Vehicle Inspector will include:

  • Carrying out vehicle inspections on hackney carriage and private hire licensed vehicles to ensure they are roadworthy and compliant.
  • Carrying out extended inspections on currently licensedhackney carriage and private hire licensed vehicles.
  • Carrying out inspections on vehicles that are to be licensed for the first time.
  • Carrying out retest inspections following repairs.
  • Work with the enforcement team off site, spot checking vehicles to ensure they are roadworthy and compliant.
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed and the electronic system updated.
  • Providing clear, concise and comprehensive feedback following vehicle inspections to customers in a sensitive, effective and engaging manner.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Knowledge of Motor Vehicle and Construction and Use Regulations.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years continuous experience in repairing and servicing motor vehicles.
  • Be up to date with the DVSA tester Manual and communicate any changes and or updates to the vehicle inspection team.
  • Hold a current nominated tester certificate or be in the process of renewing an expired certificate.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
