Please visit strive . co . uk for additional roles across engineering, production, warehouse & transport operations.Transport Planner£27k + BenefitsLeedsOur client is medium sized, highly ethical , chilled food FMCG Distributor who are currently recruiting for a Transport Planner to manage the day to day operations at their main site in Leeds on a Monday - Friday basis. The transport operation is complexas it runs on a collections basis back to the DC ready for the outbound daily drops.Ideal Candidate :A proven transport planner who has worked in a fast moving transport operation [food / parcels / FMCG etc] using telematics / related transport route planning tools on a regular basis. Strong communication skills & able to think on your feet.Overall Purpose of Role: To increase vehicle utilisation and operational delivery performance using integrated business systems to daily achieve the best cost effective delivery schedule.

  • Plan all outbound deliveries to customers orders while utilizing resources optimally
  • Monitor and own certain business systems and processes of which are related to resource planning
  • Monitor and adhere to company and legal compliance, utilizing relevant resources
  • Liaise with drivers and operational team any and all amendments and optimization requirements
  • Provide live updates to customer services and Senior management on lates and low performance of resource
  • Source local agency and ,manage driver start times using T&A system
  • Manage resource levels within the distribution operation
  • Ensure all deliveries are planned and executed within SLA and to all customers standards
  • Audit team of drivers to ensure DOTIF adherence
  • Escalate issues in a timely manner to relevant senior staff
  • Ensure all documentation is completed and stored to company standard
  • Deputize in the absence of Transport Manager as and when required
