Job Description

Do you have a successful track record of setting up, leading and delivering large scale technology transformations to defined cost and time criteria within the Customer spaceThis role is a ‘once in a career opportunity to be part of one of the largest retail transformation projects in the world. You will be responsible for the transformation of the technology and underpinning processes that support our Customer function, for one of the UKs leading retailers.Joining the team now means you are right at the start of this exciting journey, and will have the opportunity to shape the delivery and source your future team.Youll join the team in a 2-3 year fixed term position. As the team is set to grow dramatically, a number of other exciting new roles will become available in future.Your RoleYoull be willing to take on the challenge to lead the technical delivery, integration and business deployment of the Customer ‘Tower. Your accountabilities will include:

  • Lead the governance of Customer Transformation, inspiring a cross-functional team to help Asda better understand customers and deliver a seamless, more personalised customer experience across all channels.
  • Deliver and track measurable benefits and ROI from Customer Transformation, in line with the business case.
  • Ensure there are clear Customer Transformation use cases, and prioritise them, to deliver the biggest impact for Customers and Asda.
  • Make smart choices about our Martech and Madtech technology, so that we can deliver the use cases quickly and efficiently, in line with the plan.
  • Work with the Customer Platforms & Products team to embed capability change, ensuring the business is ready to maximise the benefits and deliver the ROI.
  • Building out your Tower structure and plans to deliver, including selecting and managing third parties (where appropriate) to support this journey.
  • Leading and managing the Tower ‘like a business demonstrating strong financial control, effective people management and adherence to the required design and governance frameworks.
  • Managing your Tower to delivery your plan and shared programme outcomes to some non-negotiable timelines , and therefore relentlessly managing scope, understanding the boundaries of where compromises can be made and being able to ‘find a way will be critical.
  • Managing challenging stakeholders from all areas of the business, as well as balancing the competing priorities of other delivery Towers, to ensure that we prioritise overall value.
  • Owning the supplier relationships throughout the delivery lifecycle, and driving value form these.
  • Working closely with the Data separation team to fully define as is and to be states, including data flows, tools and tech, and ensure Future solution alignment, governance and compatibility.
  • Coordinate Customer and Data design, delivery, cutover, implementation and roll out plans, working together to deliver a single version of the truth.
  • Serving as an inspirational member of the Customer and Technology Leadership team, aligning everyone behind a common purpose.
  • About You
  • Successful track record of setting up, leading and delivering large scale technology transformations to defined cost and time criteria within the Customer space.
  • A detailed knowledge of the customer function such as Journey mapping, Adtech, Martech, MRM, CRM, Segmentation, Analytics, Insights, Visualisation, Decision Science and Loyalty, and the types of technologies which typically underpin that.
  • Significant ability in managing complex networks of relationships both internally and externally.
  • Extensive experience in selecting and managing implementation partners.
