Job Description

Are you an enthusiastic Teacher of Science looking for a new roleReed Education are looking to recruit a Teacher of Science for a school in Kirton who are looking for someone with the ability to teach Science in all three subjects across KS3 and KS4.Job Title: Science TeacherLocation: Leeds LS15|Contract Type: Full Time/ Long TermStart Date: Jan 2024Pay scale: 140 - 180 per day (depending upon experience)Commutable Areas: Leeds, Wakefield, Castleford, Pontefract.Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive science lessons to students at various grade levels, following the curriculum guidelines and educational standards.
  • Foster a love for science by creating a positive and stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and hands-on exploration.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching techniques, including laboratory experiments, demonstrations, discussions, and multimedia resources, to facilitate learning and cater to different learning styles.
  • Incorporate real-world applications and current scientific developments into lessons to demonstrate the relevance of science in students lives.
Qualifications:
  • Possess a PGCE certificate with QTS.
  • DBS on the update service (although if no current DBS is available this can be applied for via REED).
  • Previous experience of teaching science in a secondary mainstream environment although the post is suitable for newly qualified teachers with QTS.
  • Understanding of the National curriculum covering the core disciplines of physics, chemistry, and biology.
  • A passion for your subject and a strong commitment to safeguarding children.
