Job Description

In this hugely important role you will be working as a Supervisory Caseworker, becoming part of the UKs largest provider of genuinely free independent debt advice and managed solutions.Working in our Supervisory department your role will be to provide on-going support and advice to clients who have been accepted on an Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA). This role involves a variety of challenging activities including dealing with telephoneand email queries, conducting annual reviews, dealing with changes in client circumstances and responding to general queries from clients.What you will be doing:

  • Conducting reviews of client circumstances where required. Ensuring all relevant and necessary information has been received and assessing monthly payments into the IVA to make sure the client is paying a fair amount. Referring cases to the IP and usingthe current processes and procedures as a guide when managing individual case
  • Negotiating with clients to ensure the budget is fair to both client and creditor and taking any appropriate action to amend deposits and pay-outs to creditors as appropriate in accordance with StepChangeVA policy
  • Managing clients through the IVA process by actioning tasks in line with current policy and procedures
  • Producing necessary reports for creditors in line with IVA regulation and timescales
  • Managing own caseload of clients and associated tasks, ensuring all work is completed to regulatory and internal process timescales
  • Answering enquires from clients and creditors over the telephone, via email and in writing
What we want from you:
  • A working knowledge of MS office packages is required
  • Knowledge of money advice (desirable)
  • Strong numerical skills
  • The ability to quickly analyse complex problems and provide easily understood solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills are required along with the ability to negotiate effectively with third parties.
  • Must have the ability to empathise with clients whilst retaining an objective and realistic approach to individual circumstances.
  • Must be receptive to feedback
