Job Description

Exciting Opportunity for a Special Needs Teaching AssistantJoin us as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant (TA) at a welcoming SEN School in Leeds. Starting as soon as possible, you will work alongside dedicated educators, shaping the learning journey for all students.We are looking for a TA with experience in special educational needs such as autism. An understanding of child development and learning, excellent communication skills, adaptability, empathy, and dedication to promoting equal opportunities are the key qualitieswe seek in a TA.You will be supporting students who have additional learning needs such as autism, ADHD and physical needs. The school caters for students from EYFS age, up to post 16.Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Ensuring student safety and facilitating access to learning activities.
  • Contributing to education and behaviour plans.
  • Encouraging inclusivity and embracing diversity.
  • Setting high expectations for student achievement.
  • Providing feedback on student progress.
  • Upholding child protection policies.
  • Assisting with supervision outside of class.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Previous experience with special educational needs.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Right to work in the UK.
