Operating from more than 270 locations across England, Scotland and Wales, Maximus UK is one of the largest providers of employment, health and disability support programmes in the country.Job SummaryThe Solution Design function is based in the UK Proposal Centre and is responsible for the production of all Solution Design elements across Business Development within the MAXIMUS business groups. This role focusing specifically on Health will support Proposal Operations and Sales from initial opportunity qualification, full solution design whilst supporting tender responses, and sub-contractor offers. The Solution Architect will also support internal sign off and the production of implementation plans for both new and existing business.The Solution Architect will be a key role within the business working as part of a team to consistently deliver high quality responses to PQQ’s, proposals and tenders to facilitate the maximum increase in new business acquisition and retention of existing clients.Job Description SummaryResearch and DevelopmentIdentify best practice examples throughout the business to build solutions via building a strong rapport and delivery knowledge with Operations, Clinical, Client Service Managers and Sales. Undertaking on/off site delivery visits as required.Undertake full and or co-design activity as directed by the Sales Team, Proposal Operations and Operational Delivery, to include:Standard delivery modelsBespoke solutioningSupply Chain developmentCustomer/client Journey constructionWork closely with the Sales Lead in developing win themes and USP.Undertake when required supply chain analysis working closely across the business to support the development of quality and robust supply chains.Opportunity Qualification Working closely with the Sales, Proposal Operations and Client Services teams to undertake initial solution assessment on new and re-bid work resulting in solution options and recommendations along with risk analysis with proposed mitigation.Working closely with the finance team on proposed financial modelling.Working closely with subject matter experts from across the business to ensure our solutions are inclusive of the latest service delivery innovations.Opportunity ResponsesPrepare and lead solution design meetings and work streamsDevelopment of solution including initial research of requirements via desk top research where appropriateAnalysis of tender response contributing and collating views on solutionConstruction of end to end solution and supporting assumptions that could include staffing levels/supply chain volumes/financial modelling/referral volumesWork with procurement on supply chain activities from identification through to offerWork with the Bid Manager and/or Writer to agree the breakdown and contribution of bid contentParticipation in storyboarding as and when requiredWork closely with the Bid Writing Team to ensure solution design is articulated and clearly translated into written responsesObtain Operations and Subject Matter Experts solution sign offWork with the Sales Team to obtain internal governance and sign offFacilitate Transition to ImplementationDevelop material in support of solution pre implementationExplain and support others with their understanding of the solution as and when requiredTo continuously work to develop in depth knowledge of business development priorities for the organisation and the breadth of commercial opportunities in scopeTo work collaboratively across multiple business areas to ensure the development of effective, innovative and bespoke solutions that positions HML in the best possible place to secure new business and retain existingTo have keen knowledge of the financial impact of commercial modelling, with an ability to tailor an approach to ensure a compelling offer is balanced with the need to achieve commercial efficiencyHave the capacity and appetite to adapt to new business areas anddevelop solutions in diverse markets.EssentialPrevious experience of working within a Business Development functionDemonstrable experience of supporting, working in and leading on bidding work streams such as Solution Design, Supply Chain DevelopmentAbility to support peers in gaining understanding of solutions proposedExperience in contributing to the production & delivery of tender documents and supporting documents (ideally within a clinically related environment).Experience of communicating and dealing with both external and internal customers.
