Job Description

What youll do Were looking for multiple Software Engineers who are passionate about creating great software to join the Vegas Portals squad in our Gaming tribe. The ideal candidate will be a fluent front-end coder with a keen sense of software architecture and someonewho can recognise the patterns that work and those that do not. A desire for continuous learning and an eye on the tech coming over the horizon are attributes we admire.The Vegas portal team are responsible for the biggest product in the gaming portfolio. They work hard to plan, design and deliver multiple concurrent initiatives. They strive to give our customers the best experience and offer unique features to differentiateSky Bet in the marketplace.   • Develop well authored and testable software in our fast-paced delivery model.
  • Understand experimentation and how best to design and implement multi variant testing to our customers to test, learn and iterate rapidly.
  • Strive for software engineering best practices and engineering quality in everything you do.
  • Deploy and release changes to multiple live and pre live environments.
  • Support, diagnose and maintain our front end applications across a variety of platforms.
How youll do
  • Front-end engineering skills with a passion for good visual design and well thought out customer experiences.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript as we develop rich and responsive isomorphic applications.
  • Passionate about engineering quality, and have a good understanding of application performance, caching, browser support and unit testing to ensure we deliver a high-quality user experience.
  • Understand types of multivariant testing practices and can contribute to experimentation strategies and implementations for our fast-paced front end.
  • Work closely with Lead engineers, Senior engineers, Software engineers and Academy engineers to ensure we are delivering high quality solutions to business challenges and requirements.
We are currently transitioning to a React/Redux stack, making use of tools such as Babel and Webpack, ideally you will have some knowledge/experience of these technologies (or similar):
  • JavaScript

  • Apollo/Redux/State management
  • NodeJS
  • GraphQL
  • WebSockets
  • Jenkins
  • AWS
  • Docker
  • Terraform
You should also be prepared to help us support some of our older legacy codebases rolling up your sleeves and digging through some PHP, while helping rebuild our products in more modern solutions.Dont worry if you are not familiar with all of our technologies & languages, we want great people who are willing to get stuck in and learn.
