Job Description

Social Media Specialist (known internally as "Digital Engagement Specialist")We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Engagement Specialist to join our team, reporting to the Client Experience and Communications Manager. With a practical understanding in social media best practice and a proven track record in using social mediawith a variety of B2C and B2B, youll increase usage of and engagement with the Charitys digital portfolio. You will raise its profile through the delivery of high-quality and optimised content to a variety of audiences, through third-party digital toolsand services, based on robust insight and measurement, within a regulated environment.What you will be doing:

  • Produce, edit, gain approval, publish and promote consistently engaging and high-quality content for consumer and business audiences, to agreed quality standards to help maximise awareness, engagement, website traffic and conversion
  • Have day-to-day responsibility for upkeep of the charitys third-party social media pages, user accounts, forums, review websites and relationships with influencers
  • Ensure that current social media, digital engagement, SEO and content best practice is considered in the creation of all content
  • Identify, recommend, plan and roll out tactics to expand the charitys reach, engagement and acquisition using social media and engagement tools
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to help identify opportunities for content creation around marketing campaigns, policy reports, recruitment and charity projects, and deliver these
  • Initiate and continue conversations both on publicly visible news feeds/ pages and in direct/ private messages
  • Initiate, build and maintain good relationships with social media influencers
  • Using tools like Hootsuite, Brandwatch and Google Analytics, establish metrics and use the resulting data to inform test and learn tactics, interpret and report on the results, and provide insights to help the larger team and organisation
  • Take a lead in the development, rollout and upkeep of the charitys digital engagement strategy
Experience/knowledge:
  • Degree-level education in a relevant discipline, or equivalent practical experience (Digital Marketing qualification is desirable)
  • Previous use of social media and third-party platforms and practical understanding of social media best practice
  • Experience in using social media with a variety of B2C and B2B audiences
  • Business experience in using testing tools, online monitoring and data/ analytics to provide actionable insights
Skills/abilities:
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • The ability to produce clear, concise and engaging information for a mixture of audiences across a range of media
  • A good mix of analytical, systematic and creative thinking
  • Objective, pro-active approach
