Job Description

I am currently recruiting for a Overseas Registration Officer to work on behalf of my client, a leading force based in Leeds (LS11).The hours of work are Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm but with some flexibility involved.The hourly rate is £12.73per hour (PAYE).Please apply today for the chance on an immediate interview.Duties include:

  • Supervision of 4 members of staff and the day to day operational requirements of the Leeds and Bradford Nationality Departments. Required to handle material of a highly confidential and politically sensitive nature and prepare papers for the Detective ChiefInspector and Detective Inspectors signature on a daily basis.
  • Providing administrative support and in particular the maintenance of a complete data base within Force Data Protection Guidelines of all known foreign nationals including within our Force area over 3,700 current registered Overseas Visitors who are requiredby the Immigration Act 1971 to report any changes in their registered details within 7 days.
  • Assisting daily authorised personnel and members of the public with information/assistance with regards immigration matters or problems.
  • Lead by example and behave in line with the Police Code of Ethics ensuring that the force values and behavioural expectations are clearly understood and considered by managers, officers and staff in their decision making and actions; reinforcing and influencingthem through all interactions and processes.
  • Register, monitor and maintain control of the Foreign National ensuring they adhere to the Immigration Regulations under the Immigration Act 1971. It also includes documenting and endorsing Passports with details of the registration and examination, updating,weeding and destruction of files in accordance with current official policies
  • Balance weekly accounts of monies received for registration purposes
  • To administer the transfer to this Force and from other Forces of foreign nationals records so that accurate information is maintained at all times
To be successful in this role you will:
  • Basic knowledge and ability to operate computer systems such as Microsoft Office
  • Basic knowledge and interest in world affairs
  • Minimum of 2 years admin/office experience
  • Literacy and basic numeracy skills
  • Previous experience in dealing with members of the public and handling large sums of money
