Job Description

Job AdvertTechnology Service Management: To collaborate across Business and Technology Functions to ensure reduction of operational costs whilst increasing customer satisfaction and service stability/optimization opportunitiesAs a Service Manager, you will be responsible for the technology service strategy, performance and management of the ALS and George Business Areas. As part of a team of 6 Service Managers, you will be supported by 2 Service Co-Ordinators reporting into youwith the primary objectives being to:

  • Reduce Operational Cost
  • Increase Service Stability
  • Increase Customer Satisfaction
Working closely with ALS/George Business Areas, Technology Teams and Senior Stakeholders your responsibilities will include:
  • Holding regular Service Reviews and site visits demonstrating and providing assurances on current technology service performance, improvement initiatives, upcoming activity and general feedback
  • Accurate measurement and communication of technology service performance and success
  • Point of escalation for business stakeholders for any live service issues, ensuring follow up on mitigation activity and service protection actions
  • Ensuring governance and approval of upcoming service system changes, mitigating risk and supporting communications between technology and business accordingly
  • Identifying and driving Service Improvement opportunities, holding support and business teams (inclusive of 3rd parties) to account accordingly
  • Promoting and supporting team initiatives to benefit the wider Service Management Function
  • Identifying and managing peak activity planning for your area (clock change, golden quarter etc)
  • Gatekeeping of the acceptance of new services into production, ensuring supportability, scope and risk mitigation
  • Line Management of X2 Service Co-Ordinators, ensuring development and contribution to a high performing team
  • Meet KRAs and performance initiatives set by Senior Service Manager with a proactive and flexible approach
  • Consultancy and representative for ALS/George systems, applications and processes for Technology Teams
Youll join the team on a 12 month fixed term position. As the technology areas are set to grow and develop, we expect a number of other exciting new roles will become available in future.About You
  • ITIL Foundation v3 (essential)
  • ITIL Service Design (desirable)
  • ITIL Service Transition (desirable)
  • Strong ability to influence and challenge across all levels
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Strong people management experience
  • Logical approach to problem solving
  • Experience of risk management
